This license allows you to flash our performance upgrade to your vehicle using the Diesel+ app. In addition, the app offers the possibility to perform diagnostic functions (read/clear fault memory) and to record real-time data from the vehicle and observe it live via CarPlay (not available for every model).

The stated performance values were achieved and validated with our development vehicles.

To use the app with your Alpina/BMW/Mini, you will need either our Diesel+ Wireless Adapter (recommended) or any ENET interface/cable.

If your vehicle has an automatic transmission, we also offer the appropriate transmission software for it. If you have a manual transmission, you will save a few euros on the purchase.

The VIN (Vehicle Identification Number, German "FIN") is a unique 17-character code. You'll usually find it in your vehicle registration document, etched at the bottom of the windscreen, or on a plate in the driver's side door jamb. Providing it is optional and helps us check whether the product is compatible with your vehicle. We recommend it — but if you don't have it handy, that's no problem.

The engine

The 4.0 TDI V8 (EA898)is a modern eight-cylinder diesel engine from the Volkswagen Group and is one of the most powerful series production diesel engines ever developed by Audi. It was designed for use in Audi's premium and performance models and combines impressive performance figures with high efficiency and exceptional long-distance comfort.

Particularly noteworthy is the innovative charging concept of the EA898. Depending on the model, the engine features two exhaust gas turbochargers and an electrically driven compressor (EAV). This system enables spontaneous power delivery even from the lowest revs and almost completely minimizes the typical turbo lag. The result is enormous torque across the entire rev range, as well as powerful yet refined power delivery.

In addition to its high performance, the 4.0 TDI V8 impresses with numerous technical innovations. Common rail injection with very high injection pressures, a sophisticated thermal management system, friction-optimized components, and modern exhaust gas aftertreatment systems ensure high efficiency with simultaneously low emission values. Thanks to its robust design and generous power reserves, the EA898 is also considered particularly durable and long-lasting.

All technical characteristics make the 4.0 TDI V8 EA898 an excellent basis for performance enhancements. Especially through professional software optimizations, significant increases in power and torque can be achieved. In many cases, driving comfort, everyday usability, and reliability remain at the high series production level, which makes the engine particularly popular among tuning enthusiasts.
